Vegas was born at Shadylane kennels. She was one of their last litters. We purchased
her to add to our program because we admired her mother so much. We had no idea
that only a short while later we would have the pleasure of not only living with Vegas,
but to also have Hershey join our family.
Vegas is more than I could have hoped for. She is the spitting image of her mother and
just a bit better overall. Vegas has a great front assembly which is hard to get in this
breed. It seems to me that all of Hershey's pups are getting this great front end quality.
We couldn't be more pleased with this addition to our family.

She is beautifully marked and has a fun loving
personality. She is my conformation star and I
plan to show her until she gets her Championship.
Her biggest set back as that she is reserved with
strangers. Some judges do not appreciate this
quality in an Aussie. If the judge reacts harshly
and does not respect her space she doesn't enjoy
showing and it shows. With Judges who
understand Aussies she does fabulous.

puddle she is in it. Her and Marlie may as well be
part duck for all the time they spend in the water. We
have taught Vegas to go diving in water for hot dogs
and all sorts of vegetables. She's a natural.
She is also a toy freak. She LOVES her toys, tennis
balls, squeaky toys, Frisbee's, she loves them all.
That part of her personality shines loud and clear day
to day. She is just a happy fun loving dog.

doing the Aussie head tilt at the most opportune
times. Some of her body movements and
positions just make us smile. She has the classic
"frog" style of laying down, in that position along
with her facial expressions, she has us all in
stitches every day.

Vegas is also a very athletic dog, she has a
fascination with catching things. We constantly toss
food and treats her way and she leaps and bounds
to catch them with accuracy and speed. She's not
quite as happy about a Frisbee, but loves the tennis
ball. Her very own fetish is to take the skin off the
tennis ball when I'm not looking. While gentle with all
her other toys, tennis balls don't stand a chance.
She's play with them for a minute, but her real thrill is
to de-skin them. She's got it down to an exact
science and can take the skin off a tennis ball in well
under a minute

| VEGAS IS HERDING INSTINCT CERTIFIED!! On May 7th 2006, we took Vegas out to be tested on sheep. She passed and did very well. She was a little unsure at first and backs off to pressure. But she knew what to do and did it well. She needs to build some confidence around livestock if she wants to continue learning the ropes. So she is another one we would like to see go on in the future. Considering she does not come from a working background, I was very pleased. She is a nice girl who seems to just do well at everything we ask. A nice all around dog. Way to go Veg, you showed us what you were really made of ! |
