Sporty is a new addition to us here at Stoverly Aussies. Sporty brings a whole list of possibilities and atributes to our breeding program. We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with this great young man. Sporty is AKC registered as an Australian Shepherd.There is no denying he is 100% Australian Shepherd! His CKC, NSDR, MASCA and NAMASCUSA papers are in the process of being filed. Sporty is also very small. He measures in around the 15 inch mark. So he will help bring the size down on our larger girls. This is the way Aussies should be brought down in size, keeping the AKC and CKC paperwork in order to prove to non believers we are 100% aussies.

Sporty has a ton of herding instinct and drive. He will definitly be put on sheep in the spring when he has had a chance to settle in and get to know us better. He will definitly keep the herding instinct alive in our program. Sporty has a very devoted personality, he is a one woman's dog. He's my dog. He always looks to me for approval before doing what any one else asks him to do. He adores me and follows me around all the time. He is a great companion and a great guardian.

Sporty is definitly show material. He has a great mature coat, and is put together very well. With him only being 15 inches tall he will not see the AKC and CKC show rings even though he is eligable, instead due to his size we will only show him in the mini aussie venues with our other small dogs. We hope to start his show career in 2007.

Sporty is just an allaround nice dog. He has one blue eye and one brown eye, very striking to look at. He has beautiful white and tan markings. Sporty will play ball and gets along great with all of the other dogs. He generally ignores the cat, even with all his instinct he doesn't try to chase her at all. Sporty does like to sleep on the couch, right beside me as often as possible. We do try to encourage being on the floor, but he does get some special time on the furniture. Even though these pictures make him look like he has a sloping top line, he actually has a nice level top line under all that coat.

Even though these pictures below show straw in the yard, we are not a farm. The month of October was so wet and muddy that I just couldn't get the yard dry and couldn't get the dogs clean. We were living in a mud hole. I got desperate and threw straw in to dry things up and keep the dogs a bit cleaner than they have been the past month. In the spring the dog area has a ground level deck and some land scaping on the agenda. We'll see if that keeps things a bit better next year.

Sporty will be standing at stud to approved females in 2007. We have to get a whole slew of tests done on him first. He will have a current eye exam by CERF, Hips, elbows, patella's and elbows rated by OFA, and his MDR1 test results before we will standing him to to outside females.
